Fly to Memphis where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for two nights. A local representative of American Queen will be able to help you with any questions.

DAY 2 : Memphis.

Today, explore Memphis at leisure. Perhaps visit Sun Studio, probably the world's most famous recording studio and where Rock 'n' Roll was first recorded. Alternatively visit the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King was assassinated and now the Civil Rights Museum. Includes Breakfast

DAY 3 : Memphis.

Today, join a driving tour of Memphis before continuing to Graceland, where you can tour Elvis Presley's fascinating mansion, his private jets, the racquetball building that houses a collection of his ornate jumpsuits and capes, plus the Meditation Garden, where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. Later this afternoon, board your cruise ship, American Queen and set sail on the mighty Mississippi. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 4 : Greenville.

Home to the most unique and influential places in the Delta Region. This historic city offers a vibrant community which is rich in cultural heritage and the land of Cotton & Blues. DAY 5 : Vicksburg.

Time today to visit Vicksburg National Military Park on an optional excursion, which preserves the site of the important Civil War battle. Explore the forts, trenches and cannons, two antebellum homes, the Union gunboat exhibit and a cemetery with the graves of more than 17,000 Civil War soldiers. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 6 : Natchez.

Older than New Orleans and boasting more antebellum homes than any other city in the United States, Natchez is a pure delight. Today, visit the home of Ginger Hyland. The thought of true southern hospitality brings images of ornate mansions flanked by arched porches with charming ladies offering warm, welcoming smiles and stories of southern grandeur. Expect nothing less on this American Queen exclusive excursion at “The Towers,” one of Mississippi’s grandest and most elegant antebellum homes. Enter the lavish parlours of “The Towers” as owner Ginger Hyland offers her warm southern welcome and shares stories of their star-studded past. Hyland, the daughter of radar pioneer and president of Hughes Aircraft Co, Lawrence A Hyland, shares tales of her yearly years in California with Howard Hughes, Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon as she discloses her encounters while accompanying her parents to Hollywood parties. As an adult, Ginger became a legend in her own right as the first woman president of the American Quarter Horse Association, her connection with Bob Baffert, trainer of the “American Pharaoh,” winner of the 2015 triple crown as well as her years adding colourful commentary with “Winners Communication” on ESPN. Ginger shares her vibrant history as guest’s relax on the back porch, soaking in the beauty of the perfectly maintained gardens, adorned with 24 bronze, life size wildlife sculptures and sip on refreshing mint-infused champagne. Just as impressive as her owner, the Fleming Family who lived at “The Towers” during the Civil War, stated that General Grant once visited The Towers and is adorned with extravagant antique furniture, sophisticated draperies and fabric wall coverings, striking vintage window laces, and extraordinary Victorian-era collections. Guided by the charismatic Ginger, offers rare and stunning glimpses of her trinkets and treasures hidden throughout the mansion, while conveying their rich history – Each piece’s story more interesting than the last. DAY 9 : Nottoway.

Nottoway is the South’s largest, most glorious remaining Antebellum mansion with a rich history dating back to 1859. DAY 10 : New Orleans.

Arrive in the 'Big Easy' and disembark after breakfast and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city exploring the French Quarter including Jackson Square and Pirate's Alley, then view a typical New Orleans above-ground cemetery and learn about the city's unique burial customs. Also learn about the devastating effects Hurricane Katrina had on the city and the ongoing rebuilding project. Includes Breakfast

DAY 11 : New Orleans.

Visit Mardi Gras World, where the colourful floats are built for the famous festival and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Includes Breakfast
