DAY 1: UK - Kefalonia.

Fly to Kefalonia where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the evening. Includes Dinner

DAY 2: Kefalonia - Olympia - Messini - Kalamata.

Board the morning ferry at the port of Poros and set sail for the mainland. Reaching Killini on the western coast of the Peloponnese, continue to the site of ancient Olympia, where the first Olympic Games was held in 776BC. Tour the archaeological site and take in wonders such as the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. After lunch, drive to Messini. Pass through the Arcadian gates to view the stunning ancient city and join a guided tour of the site. Later, head to the coastal town of Kalamata on the Messinic Gulf for two nights. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 3: Kalamata - Pylos - Koroni - Kalamata.

Begin this morning with a sightseeing tour of Kalamata and a drive around scenic Messenia before visiting Pylos and its Niokastro 'new castle'. From here admire views of the Bay of Navarino - scene of a famous 1827 naval battle in which British, French and Russian sailing ships defeated the Ottoman fleet. Enjoy a visit to Methoni Castle at the tip of the 'Messenian toe' and continue along the coastal road to the seaside village of Koroni. After lunch, return to Kalamata. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 4: Kalamata - Diros - Mystra - Argolis.

Drive along the coast to the mystical Diros Caves and enjoy a unique boat trip to admire the caves' impressive stalagmites and stalactites. After a lunch stop in Gytheion, continue to Sparta and the fortified Byzantine town of Mystra, where the last Byzantine Emperor was crowned, to visit the 13th century medieval town and admire views of Sparta Valley. Later, continue to Argolis. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 5: Nafplion - Epidaurus - Mycenae - Patras.

Start the day with a sightseeing tour of Nafplion, the first capital of Greece and now a picturesque harbour town overlooked by the impressive Venetian fortress of Palamidi. Next, continue to the vast and ancient amphitheatre at Epidaurus to tour the sanctuary at Asklipeios and listen to the theatre's incredible acoustics. Later visit Mycenae, the centre of the Mycenaean world that gave its name to a whole civilisation in the Mediterranean basin, and visit the archaeological site to see the tomb of Agamemnon, the Lion's Gate and the Cyclopean Walls. Admire views of the Acrocorinth before driving along the Peloponnese coast to Patras for one night. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 6: Patras - Ithaca - Kioni - Vathi.

After a morning at leisure in Patras, take a ferry to Ithaca, an island thought to be the birthplace of Odysseus and steeped in history and mythology. Stop in Stavros to see the bust of Odysseus before driving to the picturesque fishing village of Kioni on the northern coast for views of Kefalonia. Overnight in Vathi. Includes Breakfast

DAY 7: Vathi - Kefalonia.

Enjoy a morning at leisure in Vathi before boarding the afternoon ferry to Kefalonia. See Sami - an area made famous by the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin, before embarking on a short boat trip on the underground lake of Melissani. Stroll through the caves of Drogarati to admire colourfully illuminated stalagmites and stalactites and perhaps enjoy a Kefalonian wine tasting in the Rombola Winery. Later, cross the island to Argostoli for an evening at leisure. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 8: Kefalonia – UK.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. Includes Breakfast
