DAY 1 : Depart UK

DAY 2 : Arrive in Bangkok

On arrival at Bangkok you will be met by your local representative and transferred to your hotel for four nights. In the evening you'll discover the buzzing atmosphere of Bangkok on a tuk tuk (three-wheeled taxi) tour of the city. Visit famous eateries around the capital sampling its famous street food before continuing on to the 24-hour Pat Khlong Talat flower market. The last stop of the day is at a temple, before your tuk tuk driver drops you back to the hotel for midnight. Includes Dinner

DAY 3 : Bangkok

After breakfast the morning is free for you to relax or explore. You might like to join an optional trip to Bangkok's buzzing Chinatown where you can immerse yourself in the street food culture, shop local handicrafts or visit one of the many Chinese temples. This afternoon travel by longtail boat through the vibrant klongs which earned Bangkok the title "Venice of the East". Stop for photos at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) before continuing on to Bangkok's most popular attraction, the Grand Palace, home of the famous Emerald Buddha. Includes Breakfast

DAY 4 : Bangkok

Today your cultural tour continues with a trip to the world-famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. Experience the trading of fresh fruit, vegetables and local produce along the canal banks before continuing on to the River Kwai. Lunch is at the famous bridge where the wartime film ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ was set, followed by a visit to the JEATH War Museum where you’ll explore the history of the Death Railway. DAY 5 : Bangkok

This morning, try your hand at Thai cooking with a half-day workshop at the Baipai cooking school. You'll get hands-on experience as qualified teachers show you the art of fine Thai cooking in a fun, home-style learning environment. You will then sample your cooking for lunch! DAY 6 : Bangkok - Chiang Mai

Today fly north to Chiang Mai where you'll be met by your representative and transferred to your hotel for three nights. This evening discover the culinary roots of this old city on a guided tour. You'll sample a variety of local foods including Khao Soi - a coconut curry noodle dish that is unique to the Chiang Mai. After the tour, you may wish to follow the guide to the nearby night market to try your hand at haggling. Includes Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 7 : Chiang Mai

Today you'll get the chance to master the main techniques for Thai cooking at the Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School. You'll prepare and cook a set of dishes with guidance from an experienced chef, in a relaxed, family-run environment. You will also receive a recipe book with the details of the dishes you have cooked to take home. Includes Breakfast, Lunch

DAY 8 : Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai has a number of elaborate Buddhist temples and today's morning tour explores the most interesting of them. One of the key stops is the 600-year old temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which is reached via a winding drive up the Doi Suthep mountain, followed by a 306-step climb up the site's famous Naga Serpent Staircase. Other highlights include Wat Suan Dok, home to the relics of Chiang Mai's royal family; Wat Chedi Luang, where the Emerald Buddha was once enshrined; and Wat Phra Singh, which houses a sacred 1500-year old Buddha image. DAY 9 : Chiang Mai - Bangkok - UK

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your onward flight back to the UK. Includes Breakfast
